Anticipated crops for 2011 in Finland, 25 August:
- With favourable weather conditions, the estimated grain crop is 3.6 billion kilograms, which would exceed last year’s crop by 0.6 million kilograms.
- The anticipated crops of wheat and rye are slightly lower than in July. On the other hand, the anticipated crops of barley and oats are slightly better.
- Wheat is expected to give the best harvest ever, 935 million kilograms, which would be an increase of 210 million kilograms compared to last year.
- The expected rye crop is 76 million kilograms, which is 7 million kilograms more than last year.
- With a 10 per cent increase compared to last year, the barley crop is estimated to be 1.5 billion kilograms.
- With a 28 per cent increase compared to last year, the oat crop is estimated to be 1.0 billion kilograms.
- The total crop of turnip rape and rape is estimated to be 132 million kilograms.
