During the first quarter of 2012:

Cereals purchased from farms

• A total of 466 million kilos of cereals entered the market from farms.
• Proportion of wheat was 181 million kilos (39%). This is 26 million kilos more than during the previous quarter and 19 million kilos more than during the same quarter in the previous year.
• Proportion of rye was 17 million kilos (4%). This is almost 3 million kilos more than during the previous quarter and 4 million kilos more than during the same quarter in the previous year.
• Proportion of barley was 149 million kilos (32%). This is 12 million kilos less than during the previous quarter and 13 million kilos more than during the same quarter in the previous year.
• Proportion of oats was 119 million kilos (25%). This is 10 million kilos less than during the previous quarter and 14 million kilos more than during the same quarter in the previous year.
• A total of 21 million kilos of rape and turnip rape entered the market from farms. This is 7 million kilos less than during the previous quarter and 22 million kilos less than during the same quarter in the previous year.

Cereals used

• Industry used a total of 325 million kilos of cereals. 100 million kilos of cereals were used for food and 143 million kilos for feed.
• Proportion of wheat was 115 miljoonaa kiloa (35%). This is 5 million kilos less than during the previous quarter and 5 million kilos more than during the same quarter in the previous year.
• Proportion of rye was 23 miljoonaa kiloa (7%). This is almost same as during the previous quarter and during the same quarter in the previous year.
• Proportion of barley was 134 miljoonaa kiloa (41%). This is 27 million kilos less than during the previous quarter and 18 million kilos less than during the same quarter in the previous year.
• Proportion of oats was 52 miljoonaa kiloa (16%). This is 1,6 million kilos more than during the previous quarter and 4 million kilos more than during the same quarter in the previous year.
