The Balance Sheet for Food Commodities contains data on consumption of food commodities in Finland. Expressed in the form of a balance sheet, the overall calculations specify the production of different food substances, changes in stocks, export and import as well as domestic consumption by calendar years.

Consumption of food commodities is reviewed on country level and as an average per person. Additionally, nutritional content of food, i.e., protein, fat and energy, are also analysed. The balance sheet comprises 11 food substance groups (cereals, potato, sugar, legumes, vegetables, fruit and berries, meat, eggs, fish, milk products, fats) and beverages.

The Balance Sheet for Food Commodities publication will be published on-line from now on.
