Livestock Production
Livestock Production statistics are comprised of six sets of statistics accounting for milk, meat and egg production and the number of livestock.
Milk and Milk Product Statistics
The Milk and Milk Product Statistics are published monthly and annually. The statistics contain information on milk production, the number of milk producers, the average protein and fat content of milk as well as milk product production volumes, domestic sales and inventories. In addition to the information described above, the annual statistics contain information about on-farm milk usage and the average yield of dairy cows. Previously this statistical information was published in the Dairy Statistics and the Total Milk Production statistics. At the beginning of 2011, these statistics were merged and the name changed to the Milk and Milk Product Statistics.
The Milk Production by Area statistics are published once a year. The statistics contain information about milk production and the number of milk producers by municipality, ELY Centres and support area.
Meat Production Statistics
The Meat Production Statistics are published at monthly and annually. The statistics contain information on the slaughter volumes, carcass weights and average slaughter weights of cattle, swine, sheep, goats, poultry and horses. Furthermore, the statistics include producer prices for beef, pork, mutton and poultry meat. In addition, the annual statistics contain information on slaughter volumes for cattle, swine and sheep on farms. Previously this statistical information was published in the Slaughterhouse Statistics and the Total Meat Production statistics. At the beginning of 2011, these statistics were merged and the name changed to the Meat Production Statistics.
The Meat Production by Area statistics are published once a year. The statistics contain information about beef, pork and mutton production by municipality and ELY Centres.
Egg Production
The Egg Production statistics are published quarterly and contain monthly information on the number of packaged class A and B eggs. Class A eggs are presented by production method: henhouse with battery cages, barn-type henhouse, and organic poultry farm. In addition, the statistics contain annual information about on-farm egg usage volumes.
Livestock
The Number of Livestock are recorded once or twice per year depending on the species. The statistics contain the numbers of cattle, swine, poultry, sheep, goats and farm horses. Information on the number of livestock is available by geographical area and by herd size.
