Purpose of the data gathering
This questionnaire is designed to collect data for statistics on the structure of commercial horticultural enterprises, their outdoor and greenhouse production, and their mushroom cultivation. The statistics show the number of enterprises, as well as horticultural production areas and production volumes by plant species, both for the whole of Finland and by region.
All enterprises that grow horticultural products for sale.
The results will be published annually in the Horticultural Statistics, which will be completed on 31 March. The results will also appear in a publication called the Horticultural Enterprise Register.
Yearly
Article 2 of the Act on Statistics on Rural Industries (1197/1996) obligates Tike (the Information Centre of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry) to compile and publish statistics on rural enterprises. The same law also obligates farmers to provide the information requested for these statistics.
