From Farm to Fork 2010 has been published. This book is a compilation of statistics on the food chain.Between its covers, the path of food from farm to fork is examined in graphs, maps, text and tables.

Statistics on organic production are also included. The information content of the publication has been expanded from previous years for better coverage of the entire food chain.

Seven perspectives on the food chain

From Farm to Fork examines the food chain from seven perspectives. The yearbook begins with a presentation of the structure of the food chain as well as agricultural production and inputs. The fourth chapter reviews animal health and welfare in statistical terms. The fifth and sixth chapters shed light on the food industry, product distribution and consumption. The statistical publication concludes with an overview of food chain control.

From Farm to Fork 2010 draws on numerous sources of data. The yearbook encourages the reader to consult the original sources for further information. Past issues can be downloaded free of charge from the Matilda agricultural statistics service.
